Showbiz Spy Mark 3 Coming

Well after the success of the last redesign Showbiz Spy approached me and asked if I could rebuild the site and extend it outside of its current state. So instead of it being a blog it is now going to be a massive news site with a blog embedded into it to handle the bulk of the news.

The client has also asked for secure areas, personalised home pages and and a gallery all of which will be added at stage 2. Further details to follow.

I love the web and as a programmer I always look for tools or scripts to help me improve my skills. You can find hundreds of things out there you have just got to look hard enough.

So this is how this site as born, basically anything I find be it Games, Tools, Design Graphics, Icons anything that is free I will list it. Its really my way of giving back what people have given me.

Aldershot & Farnham Hockey Club Goes Live

Aldershot & Farnham Hockey Club New Website enroute

URL: www.afhockey.co.uk

After the success of FHC reunited   I was asked by another hockey club if I could rebuild (style) their current website. Being in the hockey world it is hard to find a decent club website so I decided to spend a bit of time building a simple design that would be easy on the eye.

The bones of this website is a backend system that allows all of the club captains to add Fixtures, Results and Match Reports. An entire new backend system was born based on their original site but with added features like the ability to add all your seasons fixtures at once rather than a pain staking one at a time.  The backend powers 90% of the site and relies on the Captains to keep it updated.

I also integrated a Wordpress Blog allowing Captains to add team news or even club news. This allowed a bigger web presence and potential higher Google Rating on terms such as Hockey or England Hockey.

This is a personal project and I intend on extending it to allow Player profiles, leading goal scorers etc.

Predator Action Sports Goes Live

Predator Sports - Kite Surfing on the web

URL: www.predatoractionsports.co.uk

Predator Action Sports is a clothing brand that has strong ties with the Kite Surfing world so creating a web presence in such a niche market was important for them. Essentailly they are all about Kite Surfing but want to add an online shop on later to sell all of their clothing line.

I got this job through a friend and it was probably the first job that I have ever got where I did not have to design anything. The client had purchased a web template from a company like Template Monster but had bought it in a Flash Format.

I hate Flash and am one of those people that think you should never ever build a site in Flash (Well not unless the monies right anyway). Anyhow I had to do some screen grabs and convert it into a CSS based website. The transition was quite painless and the end result was near on perfect with the original design.

The client also required a simple message board with an ability to moderate any Spam or rude comments so I built a backend system with the ability to add plugins to it in the future. The client was very happy with the service I provided and said

I love the fact you are honest and dedicated!

Qualities I love in suppliers, and just for that I will definitely be recommending you to others!

It should also be said that this is a work in progress and will be extended on in the future.
