About Me

A section basically about me. Quite boring really but if you are interested in what makes me tick and why I love doing anything web then read on. If you came here by accident and really don't want to read about me then use the navigation at the top to go where you wanna!.

Humble Beginnings

Where to begin. Writing about myself has never been a strong point of mine. Well I have been programming since 1998 when I picked up my first copy of Dreamweaver and began building HTML table sites with some of the ropiest graphics you have ever seen.

In 2000 my brother (A genius programmer) introduced me to a language called PHP and from there I grew developing in this language creating database driven websites as well as getting quite good at Object Orientated Programming (OOP).

I must admit during my time honing my PHP skills I began to get drawn to Flash and Javascript to give the sites that little bit more pezaaz and although my opinions of Flash have greatly changed from oooh doesn't that look cool to what a waste of time that is! I still like to dabble and am always developing my Actionscript skill set.

Since 2000 I joined a company called The Esacpe where my skills have improved immensely and I now have fantastic working knowledge of CSS (2 and 3), XHTML, PHP, ASP, MYSQL as well as having a good knowledge in Flash, Javascript, XML, XSLT and SQL.

So bottom line I know quite a bit about web programming as well as designing sites.

What Now

At the moment I am spending time working on my design skill set and Illustrations (Vectors) so I can not only deliver quality W3C XHTML strict websites but they look as good as the code behind them.

In terms of my programming skill set I am looking at C# and ASP.NET and working towards delivering a framework that will match the ASP and PHP ones I currently use.

When I Am Not Being Geeky!

When I am not programming I love playing sport. I am a Hockey Goalkeeper, Avid Golfer, Fisherman, Tennis Player and keen footballer. When I am not running around sweating I love to DJ, nothing unwinds me more than cracking the vinyl out and making cracking mixes of all my favourite tunes. It is what I love Sport, Music and Web Programming.
